Private Day and Boarding Schools

AEP Partner Private High Schools are open to students entering the 9th through 12th grades. These schools are located in safe areas, have strong student support services and are near many interesting local attractions. Private high schools are smaller than most public high schools, typically 150 - 600 students.

Private high schools place a strong emphasis on providing each student with a personalized education experience that includes a challenging academic program and participating in a variety of student clubs and sports. Each year, graduates of AEP’s Partner Private High Schools are accepted to many of America’s top universities.

There are two types of private high schools: day and boarding. Students at day schools live with carefully screened and selected local homestay families. Students at boarding schools live in shared room dormitories that are supervised by live-in school staff and eat in school dining halls.

Most of AEP’s Partner Private High Schools offer ESL classes to students that need additional help to improve their English language skills.

Starting terms: Fall (early September). Some schools may accept new students for Spring (early January) and Summer English programs (June - July)

General Admission requirements: Proof of sufficient financial support, satisfactory academic records (varies by school), and proof of satisfactory English proficiency (SLEP, SSAT, or TOEFL test score report. Many schools offer ESL classes, if needed).
